The DFM Doctor
Website Terms
Last updated: 16 July 2026.
These terms govern use of this website. They do not replace the written quotation, statement of work or terms issued for a paid engineering project.
Website information
Website content is general information and is not engineering approval, certification or a guarantee that a product or component is suitable for manufacture or use.
Project acceptance
An enquiry does not create a contract. Work begins only after scope, assumptions, deliverables, price and applicable terms are agreed in writing.
Engineering scope
DFM reviews identify reasonably observable risks using the information supplied. Final manufacturing approval remains subject to the selected manufacturer, material, tooling, process capability, inspection plan and production validation.
Replacement-part limitations
Initial replacement-part services exclude safety-critical, lifting, pressure, braking, medical, electrical-protection and other regulated applications unless separately assessed and expressly accepted in writing.
Intellectual property
You must be authorised to provide any drawings, CAD, photographs, brands or components submitted for review or replication. Ownership and permitted use of project deliverables are defined in the relevant written project terms.
External resources
Downloadable guides are educational resources. They are not a substitute for project-specific engineering judgement or supplier review.
